In early 2025, a group of longtime friends came together with a shared dream— to build a modern, fast-casual Mexican restaurant inspired by the vibrant flavors, colors, and energy of the Chipotle-style concept… but with a personality, taste, and soul entirely our own. These friends had traveled, cooked, experimented, and taste-tested countless recipes in search of something different—something that honored authentic Mexican flavors while offering a fresh, bold, and uniquely Avokado twist. They envisioned a place where customers could build their meals freely, enjoy high-quality ingredients, and experience flavors that couldn’t be found anywhere else. But every great vision needs a great chef. After months of searching, the team connected with Chef Eduardo Cabrera, a talented and well-known Mexican culinary expert celebrated for his creativity and deep roots in traditional cuisine. His mastery of spices, sauces, and slow-cooked techniques aligned perfectly with the friends’ dream. With his passion and expertise, he joined the team as the Chief Chef and helped bring the Avokado recipes to life—fresh, vibrant, and unforgettable. In 2025, this shared vision became a reality with the opening of Avokado Mexican Grill, proudly located in the heart of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Today, Avokado stands as a symbol of friendship, culture, and flavor— a place where handcrafted recipes, warm hospitality, and high-quality ingredients come together to create something truly special.
